A little update on us...

OK, enough random blah blah. Here's some actual personal stuff.

It's been a real fun week here, with both of us being sick--but both with different things! Fortunately, neither one of us has caught the other's illness, or it would be even worse. But as it is, we kind of just look at each other a lot, and say "Urrr". But other than that, life's marvy.

We're both gainfully employed again. Working for competitors again! I'm working for a small networking startup, Silver Peak Systems, while Rita is working at a not-so-small, networking non-startup called...Cisco. The good news is that she's back in HF, or as they call it now, "UX", or User eXperience. Which always freaks me out a bit when I hear her talking about "UX", after having worked on HP-UX for so long, which we called "UX".

My commute is now shorter than hers. Neener, neener.

We did some (de)construction on our yard. We no longer have the stupid "rocks sticking out of concrete" trip hazards out front (What were they thinking?!), and...we no longer have a pool! Yea! We're pretty happy with our contractor, Bjurman General Engineering And Construction. He said that it would take a week, and it did. He was cheaper than the other quote I got, and he did a complete removal, while the other guy wanted to leave it there and bury it. Oh, and tear up our retaining wall, too. And maybe our trees. Bjurman didn't do any of that, and he took good care of us.

Here's pictures of the pool going, going, gone!. Then we had them pack in the dirt--it cost a bit extra, but we went for the "make it like it was never there", as opposed to the "you can never build on it" approach--until we ended up at Pool? What pool?
