Seeing Claarly

A Claar family blog. Because blogging is cool.

Well, I'm quite busy editing a video for our worship pastor's last day. It is a humorous piece. Comedy is hard! Especially when you don't really have a coherent storyboard or script, and the non-post production parts of the team are either in Texas or the Phillipines. And it has to show on the 17th. No pressure, though. I think it is going to turn out ok. I now understand, however, about how directors have to leave good stuff on the cutting room floor, and how hard that is.

To tell the truth, I was a bit overwhelmed by it all, and kinda stuck, but Rita helped me with the sequencing. She says she's good with leftovers: Show her what you got, and she'll make something good out of it. Hey, it worked with me!:-)

The participants want a blooper reel, too. And a pre-screening. No pressure, though! And a copy to keep. Maybe I'll make a DVD with bloopers and deleted scenes, and I can pontificate about each scene like they do on Hollywood movies: "Now, in this scene, we were going for extreme silliness. But it didn't advance the story, and was a bit boring, so we took it out. But you--you're a glutton for punishment--so we're showing it to you, here on this DVD!"

We've begun the process of decluttering the house. The Salvation Army came by today and took a bunch of stuff: Things that we don't need, but are still in good shape. They underestimated, and we added a few things, so they'll be back tomorrow for more, including all my pre-weight watchers and now too-big clothes. So I better behave! Which is pretty hard, and I'm struggling a bit. Stress from spousal job uncertainty doesn't help either of us in that area.

Oh well, that's the news from Lake...nope, that's someone else's line. Goodnight Mrs. Calabash, no, that's taken, too. Live long and...oh, darn!:-)
