Hey, if you like Star Wars, and humor, you might head over to Atom Films. They have this yearly contest where they have George Lucas choose the best "Fan" movies. Of this year's crop, I like "Pink Five Strikes Back" which is a kind of "valley girl" twist on things, as well as the really short "Carbonite Confusion", and "Escape from Tatooine". Both of these have a clever twist. Note that some things at Atom Films are coarse, or "mature", so read the intro first (none of the ones I mentioned are). Anyway, I thought they were fun!

On the dead tree front, I'm reading "Eats, Shoots & Leaves", a really funny book about...punctuation?! Yes, punctuation, and I wonder how many rules that last sentence broke? The author is British, very droll, and hilariously funny in that British sort of way. It helps the 35 minutes on the stepper (aargh!) go faster.

I was reading books by the likes of Ann Coulter, but they just upset me. The issues are important, but you can only take so much at one time. Along those lines, I'd recommend "Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man". Of course, if you believe in Moore, you'll probably discount what's said, but--for example--as someone who does video post production, it really bugged me how Moore cut and spliced things together to make people like Charlton Heston appear to say things they never said. Amazon.com says: "The authors have certainly done their homework, and it's impossible to view Moore's work the same way after reading this book." Of course, there'e lots of dissenting opinions in the customer comments...

Wow, I sure ended up a long ways from fun and frivolity!
