Cooking |
I love to cook – I am a fan of
Food Network. I enjoy making soups, sauces and pastas from scratch. My latest
endeavor was to create my own spice rub. Did you know that the most commonly
used ingredient in spice rubs is *not*
salt? It's onion powder – salt is
number two. |

Crafts and
Jewelry Making |
I started making earrings about
fifteen years ago when I went to an art and wine festival and saw someone
charge $45 for a pair of earrings made from three beads. I figured it couldn't be that hard, and
I've been making jewelry ever since. I've expanded into necklaces and
bracelets, and I've had a lot of fun giving them as gifts to my friends. In the winter months, I knit and
crochet. I’ve been crocheting since I was a child, and now I’m getting into
knitting. |

Music |
I have had a passion for music
since I was a child. I got my first guitar at sixteen, and have never looked
back. My interests are guitar, piano, percussion, and any other little
instruments I find along the way. My most recent addition was a ukulele when we visited Kauai for Doug’s
50th birthday this year. The guy in the store said that once I got
used to a ukulele, I’d never want to play my guitar again. He’s almost right… |

Law |
I have toyed with the idea of
becoming a lawyer since I was in high school. I decided to see what a legal
profession might look like by getting a Certificate in
Paralegal Studies from West Valley
College. My interest was in Corporate Law, and I was also interested in
Immigration Law. I still may consider going to law school once I retire. |
|
Writing |
I've always been writing – poems,
short stories, articles, songs, etc. I'm currently working on a book/workbook
with a couple of friends, and I hope to finish it this summer. |

A StepMom |
My life went from orderly to chaos
when I married a wonderful man with three children. What a life change! My
favorite Stepmom resource is "Stepmotherhood:
How to Survive Without Feeling Frustrated, Left Out, or Wicked." |

A Game Player |
One year, we figured we'd do
something silly for ourselves and got Nintendo DS. We did, and we have so
much fun with it. We bought a Wii in
late 2007, and what a blast! We're also big gamers as a family
– we've been using board and card games for years as a way to have family
nights together. Here's some of the ones we enjoy playing a lot! |

A Student of the
Bible |
I have been studying the Bible for
years now. I most recently studied Revelation, which is an incredible
awe-inspiring, faith-building book. |
